The rain is coming down in buckets, the second grade is to come, hope it stops!

Today is the day the second grade class is to come to see the animals.  I hope the buckets of rain falling out of the sky stops soon.  I am not sure if they will still get to come with the rain.  We plan on showing them the piggies, the goaties, the chickens, turkeys, maybe and elusive peacock and then Mokie's ducks, geese, and her piglets.  They are really excited to come.  Mrs. Cooper, Booboo's teacher is a very smart lady she didn't tell them that they would be coming on a field trip until the end of the day yesterday, the excitement would have been too much.  She also had them sign homework contracts, they agreed to do extra so that they could have more time to go on the field trip.  Booboo spent the evening diligently doing homework.  She likes to do homework anyway so it was actually a treat more than a hardship. She did stop long enough to do the last of evening of chores at the Herbalists house.  They love doing the chores but will be glad to have a rest from them.

I have to help Poppie move the pathfinder, he didn't get a chance to do it last evening.  He and Boy used the splitter and split a whole row of firewood while we were gone to the Zoo yesterday.  We had a very tight schedule and managed to make it back to town just in time to pick up the girls.  Cubbie was so proud she got to walk on to the school grounds with me.  Booboo took her down the slide and on to the jungle gym,  She had a wonderful time.

I have eggs to drop off at the library, no CAKLS as I will or should have a whole yard full of second graders at the time I would otherwise be at CAKLS.  I will drop off soap for one of the ladies too, I stopped by her house a couple time last week and she was gone. I have shipping to do this morning so got to get that together so Poppie can take it to town.  I am glad for the peace for a few moments,  Tomorrow to go get grain if it is not pouring buckets, I will have to see if Poppie would even want me to go get grain with the rain coming down.  Coffee to drink and kids to prod into getting going..... tomorrow.

Today is the beginning of a long week, and rain is in the forecast, a good thing.

I think that we have all longed for a little rain for quite awhile now but this week is going to be so tight to manage with out it I wished it would hold off until Thursday.  It says the worst is to come on Thursday lets hope that the weatherman had his binoculars on when he looked out the window, Poppie assures me that is how he makes his guesses.  Sometimes Poppie is so funny.  I have to go to Zootown with Mokie this morning but because she is babysitting Cartoons we have to wait until after Poppie gets home from doing chores, at this friends house and a little fixing on a goat pen, before we can leave.  The Professor's neighbors goat came down and was head butting the goat pen post and he broke one off, Poppie has to wire the fencing back up so no goaties escape. Poppie should be gone part of the morning so we can't go until he gets home.  He is going to watch Cartoons, Cubbie and Boy so we can go.

We are going to go to the case goods sale, do some other food shopping and hopefully get home before 3:30 but that will be a tight schedule if we can manage it.  Poppie may have to take all three of the kids down to pick up the girls.  He doesn't like to have to take them all when he goes.  Poppie and the girls will do chores for our friends for the last time on  tonight. I guess we will do what we can do.

Tomorrow, the second grade in coming to see the piglets, goats, chickens, turkeys, gooses, ducks and peacocks.  It will be nice to have them all here, there are around 21 of them, I think. Poppie has to move the pathfinder down to Bug's from in front of Swiss Miss Chops pen.   Bug has to work on the vehicle and it will make more room for the kids to see everything. Poppie has to go to the Doctor tomorrow afternoon as well, his blood pressure has been a little high so he has to go have that checked out. Wednesday I am hoping to get to go see Twin, pick up some wool scraps she has for me and pick up a ton of grain on the way home.  Rain is not good for hauling grain so I do hope it is not coming down on my return trip.  The girls have Awana's on Thursday, it always make for a longer day.  They will atleast not have chores to do on Thursday, other than their own.

I am saddened today, on a personal level, one of my friends has decided that my blog is to confrontational and will no longer be reading it.  I am not sure I believe their assessment but I do have to respect their thoughts on the mater. The person said that they encourage me to continue as I may speak to others but I cause stress in their life. Maybe I was a trial to the person, maybe that is good maybe that is not.  I will miss my friends readership but can't say that it will change my need to talk.... tomorrow.

Mokie is 27 today, I remember her birth with such clarity, and love.

Poppie and I had some what of a disagreement when I was pregnant with Mokie.  He had only wanted 2 children as he was from an abusive home and was so afraid he might be an abusive parent.  Anyone that knows him knows that to be the farthest thing from the truth, we knew it then as well but he didn't.  I wanted four children but had agreed that if the baby I was carrying was a girl I would have my tubes tied.  I feel that every girls needs a sister, having had a few myself and knowing how my mother had longed for one. Mokie was born and I went through with my promise.  God always knew I longed for more children and in his time he gave me two more beautiful daughters.

Mokie was a beautiful baby, she was dark like her dad with my big brown eyes from the minute she first opened them.  She and her brother looked so alike that in baby pictures I can't tell them apart except for the fact that they have very different noses.  Mokie has my mom's nose, she and one of my nieces are the only two of the kids or grandkids that do.  She had dark almost black hair at birth.  She was a happy content baby, never cried much or ask for anything special except to sleep in my bed until she was six and be carried on my hip nearly as long.  One day for no apparent reason she crawled of my hip and became and independent soul.  She hasn't like to be made a fuss over or hugged much since.  I do so miss the little girls that wanted nothing more than to be in my lap.  She may not need to be on my lap any longer but has never actually strayed far from me.  She lives next door on the same property she has lived her whole life on.  She is a content person and one of the most black and white people I know,  I do so love when she adds a shade of gray to her life and seeing her acquiring the ability to a little more each year is so refreshing.  She is pregnant with her third child and will be the mother to two beautiful daughters come December.  She doesn't know how much her little Cubbie will cherish and fight with her new sister, but she will adapt as she always does in her quiet unassuming way.  I love my daughter and want the best for her, and am wise enough to know when that is to support her choices and not try to make them mine.  She is the lovely empowered woman I so had hoped she would be, with the ability to be the soft spoken loving wife..... tomorrow.
