Well Mokie bugged Yogie, again, because the baby has spots on her side, Mokie convinced her to change the name to Pokaspot, so Pokaspot it is. We are Beekman 1802 fan's can't you tell. So on with life, the little one is getting on well with her other goatie siblings, she is so much littler so I hope she finds her way. I took orders for two little doelings next spring, that is cool. My neighbor DC wants them but they have decided to take the plunge into farm life in stride and will be ready of goats next spring. They bought chickens but are still trying to teach their dog that chickens are not lunch. I am not sure how many they are down to but am glad that he is not eating the other neighbors chicken. DC has gotten a electric control system to keep her dog at home she just has to get it installed I hope that helps.
We worked on the greenhouse yesterday it is coming along well. We have two windows in and only 30ish left to go. I will be glad that it is upcycled as much as we can. We are going to put the footing of a second green house in as well but this year it will only be a raised garden next year we will put the second green house on the footing. We have all the walls and rafters but the roofing will cost about 300 dollars so may have to use rolled plastic at first if we can't scrap together the cost of the roofing. We will see and pray about the roof and see what happens.
Bug and Daughter will be getting to adopt Buga on the 9th, Bug will also get to adopt Eldest and M as well. It is funny M thinks that it is Daughter that will be adopting her because her daddy is her daddy and it must be mom who is adopting her. Bug has been her dad since she was 6 months. Eldest was 2 when Bug became his dad. Buga has always been Bug and Daughters so it will be nice to get the legal aspect of the adoption done, as the feelings and knowing of who they are and who they love has always been there. Bug will be legally a daddy for the first time. He is so proud. I am so proud of him, he is a unique man in this world of so many young men that run away from their responsibilities he stepped up to be a dad because he loved his kids and knew they were the kids of his heart if not his body. He is his fathers son, once that would have been an insult to him but now he knows what a special man his father is and became that kind of special man himself. He makes both Poppie and I so proud.
He fixed the van that Lady gave us this last week, he brought it up yesterday for his dad to finish the body stuff and the work that wouldn't hurt Poppie to do. Poppie said after he had gone home, "he is much better at distributors than I am" Poppie is a very good mechanic so very high praise. I told him. "you need to tell your son, not me, he needs to hear it" I think he will tell him. I told him it is important to tell your children when you are proud of them. He has no example of the telling so he is having to learn it but it is important so he is doing the best he can..... tomorrow.
The day to day living of a family on a rural Montana hobby farm, stories of goats, piglets, sourdough bread making, cheese making, soap making and the general raising of two little girls, their three older adult siblings, and the loving of our 10 grandkids. The story of a 36 year marriage with it's ups and downs. We worship God with reverence and are truly blessed for being his beloved children.

Pink Posey comes to our little farm, Osama Bin Laden is no more, life is good.
We went out to do our Sunday chores after our morning indoor routines were done. I went into the doe pen and Jewels was standing where looking for food with the other girls. I looked at her and she seemed a little thinner so I assumed she was getting closer to her time, she was due on the 4th. She was loudly asking for food, Poppie was bring it around from the barn. I looked over and behind the old grey wood stove, that sets in the pen next to the barn, I saw a little white butt. Since most of the Boer babies have little white butt I wasn't really phased. I then noticed that the little one had a smear of blood on it's leg and I stepped forward to check the baby. I noticed it was a little girl then it dawned on me that the baby was to small to be one of the older ones, I yelled, "Jewels had her baby" I was so excited she had done it all alone and was up and about, the baby had come during the night. Jewels did great. I called the kids over to see. She is adorable, very Boer but with her mommas and grandmas colors on her face with a few little round spots on her side.
I had already made the decision that I was going to sell Jewels before the baby was born so I was going to correct the naming mistake I had made, or that I had made before I started my naming routine. I had seen on the Beakman show that Farmer Jon names his goat the same name as the mother to keep genealogies straight. I liked his thoughts on it so adopted the idea. I want to get back to that way of naming in the new baby so since Jewels will be gone I decided to make sure the new babies name began with a P. Yogie got to name the baby. I gave her some choices but she didn't like them so wanted to name the baby, Pony. I didn't think Pony would work so said maybe it could be Ponytail. She liked that. When Mokie didn't and gave her a hard time, Yogie and Mokie, though 19 years apart tend to fight like any two sisters. It does help that girls to have a close relationship by the fact that Mokie lives next door. I digress. Yogie then decided that she thought Polly Parrot would be good. I was not sure but didn't say anything. This morning after thinking on it during the night, I ask Yogie if she might like, Purple Polly, Purple Posey, Polly Purple or Posey Purple better. She said no but she did think Pink Posey would be good. So we officially put her name in the goat book so that is her final name.
I always watch tv on one of the news channels, when I wake up during the night, it sometime helps to put me to sleep but if it doesn't I get to get updated on the outside world. I turned it on about 4ish this morning and the head lines was that Osama Bin Laden was dead. Praise the Lord for closure for so many people. I also pray that there will be no repercussions that we can't imagine or are horrible. I hope that with their leader gone that the factions fight amongst themselves and are in the end not as strong. Tomorrow brings a new day in our history as a world lets pray for understanding of other cultures..... tomorrow

Sunday morning, Gods beautiful sunshine is shining down on our lives.
I love Sundays and the nice sunny ones are a special treat it gives us so many options to enjoy. We have had such a long cold spring any sunny day is a gift from God, not that the cold isn't as well but the sun is a special treat. We will be working in our green house later, and since Mokie is working this morning, the girls, Poppie and I will be doing the milking ourselves so a nice morning to look forward to. What a glorious day the Lord has given us to walk in his light.
I sit here contemplating my life with God. I heard a service this morning where the Preacher talked of 8 steps to follow in this life. The beginning step was praying to God. We only get to the father through the son, which is the way I was taught and know. He talked about how so many people try to fix the problems in their lives and go to the Lord as a last resort but that it should be our first resort. That we should always go to God through Jesus, first. That he is the only one who knows his will for our lives. We do not have one person in our lives who know us the way God does. He knows us to our core and in our hearts, others can only guess at who we are. God will include others in the answering of our prayers, if that is his will, but he should be our first choice. He also talked about prayer being our first option, always, that when our children see us praying and the prayers being answered that that is the most powerful way to teach them about God. The church is nice and fellowship is building to their spirituality but the simple act of praying with your children, from birth, is the most powering gift of God you can give them, well not his exact words but the general thought or concept that God gave me through the Preacher. I was so uplifted at the thought of the simple idea, Praising God is what we are called to do, but I hadn't thought of by doing it we helped our child into it.
I am so uplifted that God spoke to my heart this way that the rest of the day will just be a joy to share with my family, the work increases the joy, and the communion with God sings to my heart. I hope you enjoy the day as we intend to do... Tomorrow.
