Soap to make, and new upcycling to create, Rain pouring down and has all night.

We sold sold 45 bars of soap at the flea market, gave away most of my soap samples that I give away, and gave away a few bars to people to try. So all in all I am in need of some more soap. I got feedback that will help in the choices of new soaps I will make. I have also decided which styles I will not make again. I follow my own recipe and change it up a little to accommodate the oils I have on hand. I never promise that I can exactly remake an batch because as with any cooking project they are never truly the exact same.  I have been looking into natural ways to darken your hair for those of us going gray that don't want to really chemically dye it. I had read about rinsing in coffee, an effective if not slow process toward doing it. Twin, who Mokie and I shared the space with, had mentioned to me that she loved the coffee soap as it was great to take the dirt from gardening off of her hands, but it bled a little brown and sort of stained her garden sink. I had given her a bar I had made with goats milk and instant coffee. I had also made a batch of plain coffee soap but had wanted to add the qualities of the goats milk so had opted for the instant coffee, one of my many brain storms, I am a good old trial and error girl. Later that night I had been laying in bed after she had told me of the staining and it dawned on me that the staining may be a good thing in a shampoo for dyeing your hair. I decided that I will rebatch the chocolate espresso soap into a shampoo and see if that works as a slow dye. I want it to be publicly known; I do no testing of my products on animal, no animal testing here, I test on me and my family instead.... lol. Since there is no unknown nasty chemicals in my soaps no danger in my testing.

I have several gallons of milk on hand, the lady with the puppies is supposed pick some up. If she doesn't I will make several batches of soap tomorrow when Herbalist comes to learn how to make soap with me. I should have enough to make a nice big batch of cheese, shortly, I will have to make soap or cheese every day or every few days as the babies are all being weaned. Mokie's Pansy is drying out but that will be good for her to catch up on her health before breeding season, she is the oldest of all our does, and goats for that matter. We have to go get two or three ton of hay on Friday or Saturday, we made enough for most of what we will buy at the flea market, I also sold Dessert. DC and her husband got attached to him and they couldn't stand that we were going to eat him this fall, they are going to make him into a pack goat. That will be cool, we are going to turn Rootbeer into a pack goat as well, as it may be a way for the girls to make money while leaning a skill with animals. Mokie got an offer for her little tiny wither, Dexter, so that will be good for her, he is going to be very little and the lady wants him for a pet. All in all good things to come with the goats and their contributions to our farm coffers.

I went to Woman In Timber, little thrift store, yesterday. They save wool items for me, I also picked up some odd clothing items to make into upcycled toddler items. I got good feedback at the Flea Market on them.  Twin gave me my best feedback, I had gotten alot of my original interest in making them from her so was excited about her seeing them. She liked them and said they were very unique and different, which since I make them all one of a kind was a great compliment to what I was trying to accomplish with them. I actually got more brave in my selections yesterday and am aiming at some vintage looks and just fun one of a kind creations. I spent the afternoon, creating and cutting, then sewing.  Mokie hates them all, I don't have a problem with her not liking them that is mostly due to her style and taste; but she actually got into being cruel about them so I cried and left her to complain with her dad. I still am hurt and she really does need to say she is sorry for her cruelty.  She is one that will do something sweet to sooth my hurt but will never voice that she is sorry so we will see how today goes. I try so hard to help her find her niches in creating, as she is creative, but sometimes mean is just mean. We will see what today brings, I love that life is a new adventure everyday, just think how sad and lonely it would be if it wasn't...... tomorrow.
