I am looking forward to the new law regarding prescription drug shoppers.

I am looking forward to the new law coming the first of March, it will make it harder for drug seekers to shop doctors.  It has the potential to help so many people in many ways.  The epidemic of prescriptions drug misuse is so dangerous here in Montana, I don't know about other areas but I am sure it is similiar.  More people die of prescription drug missuse here than the combined use use of illegal drugs.  The news has been reporting of a Justice of the Peace in a county near us that has been charged with 39 felonies in regard to doctor shopping.  It is tradgic that so many people are doing this and becoming addicted this way.  We hear so much about the use of illegal drugs but illegal prescription drug use is in many ways a more dangerous silent killer.  Quite often the ones most quilty are mothers with little kids at home, no one sees the peppy nice mother as a drug abuser, they just ask her to do more or see her going above and beyond and have no idea she does it with drugs that she has legally then needs more and more so she ends up drug seeking or shopping.  She will spend hours in a waiting room trying to convence a doctor, not her own, that she is in pain and needs drugs, such a said sick existance, and unfortunately her children pay the price.  I hope this law gets it together and stops all the doctor shoppers number one not to get drugs, number two to get the help they need.  It is so sad how many different people in our society are doctor shoppers, mothers, young people, teens who watched their parents or shopped their parents medicine cabinets.  I am not stupid enough to think this is a cure all and I hope it is not used improperly and the doctor shoppers continue on to their down fall.

I so often wonder why so many people chose to spend their lives in a cloud, are their lives so sad that they need to live it in an altered state.  I wonder do they not stop to take in the joys of life or have they lost God or didn't know him in the first place.  Do their families mean so little that they will do anything for the drugs.  Where will this culture with in our culture end?  Drugs can't be the center of our lives, precscriptions, alcohol, illegal drugs are not where are love should be focused.  Did you forget the joy you once got from just being alive or with your child or family.  Sadly we can not help  those who don't want it or don't see that they need it, you can only help the willing.  God alone can help those to find themselves and him.... tomorrow.
